The Zone 3 Interclub Snapper Tournament is done and dusted for 2025 🐡
Well done to the 56 anglers on 18 boats that got stuck in and represented the MBGFC today despite the wind conditions getting up towards the afternoon…we had some decent fish come across the weigh station scales. Thanks to our dedicated weighmasters Stu & Pete, and a big congratulations to our prize winners, sharing a total cash prize pool of $1780! 💰
Lastly, after holding on to the Kilwell Sports Interclub Trophy for the last 6 years in a row, the MBGFC passes it on to the Matarangi Boat and Fishing Club…a well-deserved win with a whopping 11.802kg fish taking the top spot!
We are sure it will return to it’s usual spot in the trophy cabinet next year..! 💪🏽

Making this a month long tournament to ensure lots of opportunity for everyone to get out when the weather conditions are right and get stuck in!

Whitianga Wharf Kids Fishing Competition – we are looking forward to being able to run this fun tournament this year for the kids

Saturday 28 December at 9:00 am to 10.00 am (registration starts at 8:30 am) – you do not need to be a member of a fishing club, come and enjoy the fun.

Early registration will be available for members and club affiliated members at the game fishing club on  Friday 27 December from 5.30pm – 7pm – Otherwise just turn up on the day and entries will be taken from 8.30am – you do not need to be a member of any other fishing club to enter.

12 years and under / $2 per person entry(all children must be actively supervised by an adult)

6 x categories – Kahawai, Spotty, Sprat, Mackerel, Triple-fin, Parore
